Scripture Focus: Matthew 11:28-30 and Isaiah 41:10
JESUS invites us into His rest in Matthew 11:28-30, saying, "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." This powerful passage reminds us that true rest is found in JESUS. Yet how many of us who claim JESUS find no rest?
I believe many of us have failed to include Him in our heavy loads. We have somehow, through faulty wiring, believed we could get it done outside of Him. However, our souls can find peace only in Him, away from the burdens of this world.
Complementing this, Isaiah 41:10 reassures us, "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your GOD; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." These scriptures collectively call us to trust in GOD's sovereignty and lean on His strength, not our own. We must be intentional in learning of Him so that rest can be found.
Challenge: This week, set aside 15 minutes each day to sit quietly in the presence of the HOLY SPIRIT. Use this time to pray, meditate on these scriptures, and release your worries and burdens to GOD.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise of rest. Help me to lay down my burdens at Your feet and trust in Your strength and guidance. Fill me with Your HOLY SPIRIT and grant me the peace that surpasses all understanding to navigate this life successfully in JESUS Name, Amen
